"The kind of story you can rip through in one day" -Zebras and Quills, on IRISH MOON

Scene Song Saturday

Scene Song Saturday– “Cough Syrup”

Book two in the Vegas Pararealm, Drowning Lust, has been sitting in the virtual drawer for over a year now. This May, it gets to come out to play. Paula gets to come out to play. The thing is, this succubus is in deep conflict. Her best friend, Liv Starr, seems to have found a cure for her lust.

Can Paula, too. Or, does she even want to?

In Drowning Lust, Roan Slade, the bad boy we all adore from Stealing Dusk, comes on scene. He isn’t Paula’s love interest, but what he reveals brings about changes neither Paula or Liv are ready to face.

This is Paula’s song…

Oh, the tangled web love can weave…

Scene Song Saturday– “Eyes on Fire”

Enchanted Moon’s (Moon Magick Book II) April release is on the horizon and Stealing Dusk (Pararealm Book II) will soon follow.

For very different scenes, this song begged for my attention.

In Enchanted Moon, this music matches what Ailyn feels in her belly as she faces her worst fears in the black moment, where she must wear the mantle of her destiny.

In Stealing Dusk, Lyric hears this beat in his soul the first time he sees his love interest in the bloodsport ring. She’s his best friend’s ex-flame, a half breed changeling smuggler who takes him by complete surprise. He thought he knew her.

No one really did until now.

You might recognize it from a little film called Twilight.
Enjoy!

Scene Song Saturday–”What The Water Gave Me”

In Enchanted Moon, water is big theme. It is through water that Ailyn penetrates the veil between Fae and Man. It is at the lip of a cliff that she must face the crashing ocean waves below all in the name of love.

Florence and the Machine is by far my Muse, Milla’s, favorite go to artist when she (we) need to feel and hear and smell the story. Nearly any song by them gets my fingers itching to type.

There is no official video yet, but this one has a beautiful image that reminds my of Ailyn and also shows the lyrics.

Enjoy!

Here’s to a weekend drenched in creativity and anticipation!

Luv, Amber

PS: Enchanted Moon, if all goes according to plan, shall release April or earlier.

Scene Song Saturday–”That’s The Way Love Goes”

Awww! My Justin is so young and cute in this adaptation of Janet’s hit!

For all you new fans of Love Lust, the first installment of the Vegas ParaRealm series, here is a taste from the soundtrack of Paula’s story’s . Drowning Lust releases in March 2012.

In it we’ll see just how permanent Liv’s change was as well as meet Roan Slade, a shifter who has crossed realm lines to smuggle endangered changelings and free some succubus.

Paula gets caught in the middle and falls for the wrong girl…

Like a moth to a flame…burned by the fire…delicious!

Scene Song Saturday–”Clumsy”

In honor of Feb. 3rd’s Bestseller For a Day, here is a song I set on repeat while writing my contribution to the anthology of Valentine’s Day stories. What better story than a fan extra of Stupid Cupid herself, Millie Match, right? It’s called “Love Notion #9″

(For all you Moon Magick addicts, I have a separate short just for you coming soon, too. It’ll be a secret coded page and all. Stay tuned….)

Now, Millie, to be clear, is one pitiful excuse for a Cupid, but then it wouldn’t be a punishment for her wrongs in life if it was an easy gig. Not only is she required to match individuals with their true love, she’s head over heels for her partner in time–AJ. (Picture Richard Grieco or Billy Zane here.)

This song is just about how Millie feels…

I adore the whole pop-up thing in the video, and that guy? So Yum!

Hope to see you Friday because the anthology plus a few more titles will be FREE to celebrate the event’s one year birthday. I’ll be the one eating the cake.
:}Amber Scott

Scene Song Saturday…er…Sunday! “Not Over You”

Okay. Let’s be honest here. I should be recovered from the holidays and back to a normal rhythm. Gah!

By next week, we’ll see how that goes.

The Sweetest Fling is the latest, and long awaited, release. It shall be out in two short weeks and I promise to spread the word fast. I’ve heard rumors about a “Free Par-tay” I will say this: Plans are that both Play Fling and The Sweetest Fling will be in it. Millie up to her doomed cupid antics again!

The Sweetest Fling is not about the one that got away so much as the one Jace cannot, should not love. Because his brother does, too. Or, does he just think he does?

We’ll have to see what Millie can do to get this one right? In honor of Jace and Claire’s story, here’s the song that really encompasses it….

Thank you all for all your amazing support in 2011. Here’s to another amazing year with lots more songs (and books) to come.

Scene Song Saturday–The One That Got Away

O.M.G. this song is so A Love Soul Deep. Even the video is a bit like the book.

Sara has just one wish and thanks to a little enchanted treasure at an antiques store, it just might come true…

As a holiday treat, I hope you’ll grab your copy of A Love Soul Deep, book one in the Mystique Antiques series, over on Amazon Kindle for FREE!

Yep, that’s right, for two more days, this one is on me. Thank you all so much for all of your support. Exciting new release news coming soon…and it just so happens this song applies to that novel, too.

Until that little announcement, rock on, baby.

:}Amber Scott

PS: Swag winners TBA Monday!

Scene Song Saturday– “The Only Exception”

A Love Soul Deep, originally in the Kissed From Beyond anthology, is a story about the kind of love few people get in a lifetime taken too soon.

Sara’s life was forever altered by loving and losing Crew. So much so that one fierce wish while holding a magical relic brings him back, if only for a little while.

This Paramour song is Sara’s song. For Crew. For changing her for the better.

*le sigh*

I’m so excited to re-release this…soon!

Scene Song Saturday– “Just a Kiss”

As promised, the Enchanted Moon (historical fantasy) heroine name contest winner has been voted into the win! But first…

Our song. In honor of hitting the publish button on Wanted (time travel romance) tonight–yes, that’s correct, to-night–here is one of the many songs I listened to while revising Wanted for re-release.

The lyrics capture Samantha’s inner struggle between not wanting to ruin the thin chance of a future with Jesse and the hungry rush she feels over the very real possibility that every time she sees him could be the last.

As Jesse and Samantha lay, limbs tangled, in the afternoon sun, feeling like they’re in a dream, I listened to this song.

#sigh

And now–drum roll, please–the winner of the Enchanted Moon name that heroine contest:

She shall be known as Ailyn which means moon. Thanks and congrats to Leanne Gagnon!! (I love the other two names so much, I’ll be using the other two for secondary characters, too. Yay!)

Winnings on the way, HOTee!

Thanks to everyone who entered and to everyone for hitting like on my Facebook Amber Scott Books page!

Scene Song Saturday–”What’s My Name” (A Contest!)

Ah, the trouble and thrill of naming books and the characters in them. Want in on the FUN?

Awesome! Here’s the deal: I’d love to earn some more “likes” on my Amber Scott Books Facebook page. So, I’m running a contest here, where you post to enter, there.

What do you post? Well, first, let’s have a moment for this delicious song. (Sing it with me...Oh, nah, nah, what’s my name...)

Now for the real fun! Like Irish Moon, Enchanted Moon is set in Northern Ireland circa 1318. The time of Braveheart. Of Camelot. Of Magick.

In Irish folklore a merrow is a fae creature who crossed the veil through the sea cloaked in seal skins to woo a human man and then after years together, succumbed to her longing for home and left him.

In Enchanted Moon, our heroine is the daughter of a merrow and human man who is about to cross the veil on Samhain in search of a Fae relic whose Moon Magick could save her ailing mother and thereby, the kingdom she rules.

All name suggestions (first name only) for this heroine will count as entry and can be posted here: Facebook Page While you’re there, hit the like! (No need to comment here unless you just wanna say hi.)

I’ll take name suggestions through the weekend and on Monday, I’ll take my favorite five and put it those to a vote by the HOT Club, my fan club and secret (sortof) Facebook group.

**To join the HOT Club, just friend me on Facebook and let me know you want in. My motto: “Spoil the HOT”–with swag, freebies and news first.**

The winning name will be announced here and that winner will also get thanks in the book as well as some goodies: swag, ARC of Enchanted Moon, free ebook reader’s choice.

Sweet!

:}Amber Scott

Scene Song Sunday–”Love Me Dead”

We could all use a smile today so I changed Scene Song Saturday to Sunday. Plus, yesterday got away from me, so double win!

My favorite line from “Love Me Dead” by Ludo has to be “…and when her edges soften, her body is my coffin….”

I listened to this song for Liv Starr’s dark obsession with human lust in Love Lust and it is also SO deliciously accurate for “Dirt Nap,” my short story for The Evil Within horror anthology coming soon for Halloween.

It’s such a delightful little tune about the toxicity that some loves come with. Dare you not to be humming it in the car.

Happy Sunday!
Amber Scott

Scene Song Saturday–”Mean Sleep”

Anything Lenny Kravitz rocks with swagger and this is no exception. I love the combination of the guitar riffs and the emotional tension Cree Summer’s voice and lyrics invoke.

The lyric’s themselves fit superbly to Orenthia’s first time seeing Lyric. Because it isn’t the first time ever meeting him, instead, they have a history. Orenthia is Elijah’s ex-flame and Lyric is the last immortal in two realms she’d ever get involved with. But it seems they have no choice. They’re both out to expose an underground bloodsporting ring and working together is the logical, best answer.

The mean sleep inside of Oreana over Lyric and feelings from one little, years-old incident  that passed between them is about to come back to life in Stealing Dusk...

This isn’t the official video but has such a fun fantasy element that I couldn’t resist.
Happy Saturday!
:} Amber Scott

Scene Song Saturday–”Love You Like…”

The really delicious part of this post, I will totally miss out on. Bummer. What is that part?

Your reaction.

First, let me share the song I’m currently in writing love with. “Love You Like A Love Song” by Selena Gomez. #sosogood

Next, let me share the character who this song ‘belongs’ to in my head. Cara freakin Cox, baby. She’s a kickass twenty something who hasn’t had a real shot at her own life because her errant sister seems to eff things up for both of them.

A lot.

So Cara feels this song deep, deep down while loving from afar–*sigh*–Jinx. (No that isn’t his real name. It’s his DJ alias.) There’s just one or two little problems.

Cara just woke up from a dirt nap. Yeah.

She’s a zombie who’d like to figure out who killed her then buried her in zombie dirt before she ends up eating brains and facing the next double tap.

See? That right there? I wish I could see your face exactly now. :)

Fun, fun, FUN, Amber Scott

PS: “Dirt Nap” is my short coming up in the IBC horror anthology “The Evil Within” just in time for Halloween.

Scene Song Saturday–”Lights”

As I see the end of Soul Search closing in and I relive these moments Grant and Leigh have given me, editing, polishing, holding close and letting go all at once, this song plays again and again.

“Lights” by Interpol

The music whispers to me about the other side and the dark the stolen souls live in. The lyrics tell me what hides in Grant’s heart when he goes into the dark to destroy the soul thief.

Close your eyes, listen and deep down inside….feel it.
:}Amber Scott

Scene Song Saturday–”Super Bass”

“…does he know who the eff I is?”

Exactly. This is Milla and if you don’t yet know who the eff I is, let me share, sugarlips. I’m Amber’s muse. Yep. I’m inspiration and motivation in ripped jeans and stiletto boots. I don’t paint my nails black because it’s cool. People paint their nails black because I do. Period.

And everybody wants to be just. like. me.

Funky. Fearless. Honest. The chick who picked Amber Scott to rock the world of fiction. That’s right. I picked her. Trust me, after all her dedication, blood, sweat, trials and tears, she deserves every speck of success she gets.

Doubt me? Hey, that’s cool.  The really wonderful thing about being me is I don’t need your approval. That said, I will share with you all why I’m here instead of Amber today. You see she’s off being brilliant and important in New York City at the Indie Book Event. Charles is with her. Leaving everything else to me. (insert diabolical laugh here.)

Since I’m in charge this weekend, I’m sharing the song I love lately. The one that captures a character Amber has yet to meet. (Shhh, it’s our dirty little secret.) Once Amber’s through with all her other loose ends, then I’ll share this new lovely with her. She’s a heroine I frickin adore and so will you.

Here is HER song…….

PEACE, milla (the muse)

Scene Song Saturday–”Wolf Like Me”

In Soul Search, the hero, Grant Connel, isn’t a werewolf or shapeshifter per se. He was given a wolf’s soul in order to save his life. This wolf soul takes over in physical form in order to hunt soul thieves and free stolen souls.

This song by TV on the Radio is my favorite to listen to in scenes where Grant is hunting, fighting to hold the wolf in him at bay so that he doesn’t transform too soon and lose the chance to free the golden light he sees trapped inside his prey.

It’s called “Wolf Like Me”….

If you needed to be instilled with animal soul in order to save your own, what animal would you choose?

Soul Search releases officially this August. For an advanced preview of it, tune in Monday for Menage a Blog, the 3rd Blog Tour de Force Tour, and get a free eBook, too! For the entire tour , all you have to do is comment to win!!

:}Amber Scott (rock on)

Scene Song Saturday–Awolnation “Sail”

I have no idea what this song means, but Milla, my muse, adores its ambiguity and flat out delicious beat. It feels like the push and pull of intense attraction. The kind of attraction my characters tend to fight because it is always for that one person they cannot or should not have.

You’ve been there, right?

Your heart pounding, attraction beating inside you, your mind hunting for some hidden escape hatch that gives you permission to have just one little taste of the forbidden?

For me, that is this song. The sweet torture of wanting…

Yep. Totally addicted to it.

:}Amber Scott...la la la la la ohhhhh
